as Mrs. Mattcaveman is off scrapbooking again...I am a scrapbooking widower. I see the appeal (to women), but I find it a delicious irony that scrapbookers take so much time away from their subjects to make books about them, and thus, miss a lot of parts of the actual events and stuff that is worth scrapbooking (to them anyways...). But I digress... By the way, my D&D group calls scrapbooking "Girl Geeking."
When the little guy is asleep I plan on painting today. I think I want to get one of those painting stations they sell at GW, because it looks like it makes it easy for someone to paint anywhere. Even if only a little gets done, it's still a start...
Our fight in D&D last night was very good. We managed to take down the bad ass general, his hill giant "protectors", and a big group of ogres and hobgoblins, of course only to find out that there is an even bigger dude involved. Apparently the general was a favored soul, which made him a little more difficult, than the barbarian we were expecting (myself and one other player, anyways). Even my Special Mount (yes, Rocky, the dire badger! Brought to you by the amazing Rando!) made it through the fight with more than half of his hp. We had a touch with glory last night, as the favoured character of our DM Grot Bonegrindur (I played with this character when he was starting out, as a paladin named Fingolfin...where did I get a name like that;)?) came to deliver us gifts and good news. It looks like this campaign may get to Epic after all...
The Big Bang Theory is getting extremely well written this season. Bernadette is back (Man that girl is stacked in the waitress outfit, but as I always like to point out, she's no Buffy...) Speaking of Buffy, I just found out that the Season 8 comic series is over in a couple of issues. As this series is now finite, it may be appropriate for me to collect them after all, especially after I read on a reputable website (thanks Wikipedia) that Buffy was involved in a lesbian relationship and afterwards finally realizes that Xander may be the guy for her after all (awww....puke.) It turns out that the Riley comic is a one-shot, thank the Force. I do not find that that character is more than a "collection of statistics" to use the RPG term. And Giles and Faith are now buddies...Man I really have to get up to date.
Finally found a paperback copy of The Gathering Storm, 1000 pages, yet it is double-spaced. Isn't that a bit of a waste of paper considering earlier books were single-spaced? The Aes Sedai are turning out to be a very bitter organization, (Probably shouldn't say that about a group that can channel an energy field, like the Force?)
Just have to say it..., although less and less every season, Xander is a tool.
A couple of random thoughts to end today...
How is it in a population of 6 billion, the Guardians can find Hal Jordan no problem to give him the ring?
How does Tim Horton's get away with constant employee turnover?
Will the Leafs ever lose a game?
Why are the Forgotten Realms so confusing with their timelines?
Is 23 months too young to teach a kid how to game?
Why is a Jack referred to as "His Nibs" in cribbage?
Have a great day.
